Empowering Youth: IFAD’s Internship Programme

Young people bring fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and boundless energy to society and the workplace. Recognizing this potential, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) offers an exceptional six-month internship programme designed to provide recent graduates and current students with meaningful learning experiences.

IFAD’s mission centers on addressing global challenges, including rural poverty and food security. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that align with your field of study while gaining hands-on experience in an international development setting. The programme also allows interns to extend their tenure for an additional six months, enabling a deeper engagement with IFAD’s diverse initiatives.

Monthly Allowance: All interns receive financial support during their tenure.

Additional Support for Geographic Diversity: Interns from developing countries who need to travel to their assigned duty station receive a higher allowance to cover housing and travel expenses.

To qualify for the IFAD Internship Programme, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. Age: Be 30 years or younger.
  2. Academic Status:

Currently enrolled in an accredited university or graduate school with at least two years of undergraduate studies completed.

  1. Language Proficiency: Be fluent in English. Knowledge of additional languages, such as Arabic, French, or Spanish, may be required depending on the assignment.
